TouchWeave integrates nitinol shape-memory alloy wires into a stretchable fabric substrate. The wires contract when heated by a small current, producing a subtle squeeze or pressure sensation on the skin.

The current prototype has 12 independently addressable actuator zones and is driven by a Bluetooth-connected microcontroller embedded in the collar.
